It's funny how things happen! My last car was a 7 replica with 1200cc Triumph Daytona motorcycle engine. Having only been on the road 2 weeks, I decided to take it to the Le Mans 24hr. During the course of the trip my best friend (still is) had a go in it and had a close encounter with a tree, writing the car off. A sad demise!
After this event when considering my next kit, I realised my circumstances were changing.
When I built my first seven style kit (one of three), there was only me and my wife.
Now we also have two young children. It was at this point that I decided I wanted to build a
car that was a real alternative to the sevens currently dominating the kitcar market.
As much as I have enjoyed the building and ownership of my own 7 style cars, I needed
more practicality ,and also wanted something that was different to everybody else's car, as
one of the main reasons of building a kitcar is to have a unique car that stands out in the
crowd. So another 7 type car was no longer on my shortlist.
I wanted a car that offers a single seat experience with a central driving position, but with
practicality of 3 seats.
I can be Jenson Button on track days sitting in the middle imagining that I'm a Fl race driver (we are all allowed to dream!), I can go to the Le Mans 24hr race taking a mate, plus beer and camping gear, on schooldays I can take both my kids to school, and at the weekends take them out for a ride.
So who makes a kit like this ?
Well after extensive research I couldn't find one.
So I decided to create my own.
I figure there must be a lot of people like me looking for something new and exciting that
gets the pulse racing ,and offers all the thrills of a seven, but with dramatic modem styling,
and the capability of carrying 3 people.
Having built a number of kitcars knowing how much they can cost to build, it was also important
for me as an enthusiast 1st ,to make sure that my car is affordable to buy and build for the
majority of people.
I feel by using cutting edge design and technology, I have managed to deliver a no
compromise package on quality of components, safety or design features.
This has enabled me to deliver a premium product at a fantastic price.
That should cost no more to build than a well finished seven kitcar.
